Why 2024 didn’t go as planned (and that’s Ok)
Since I moved to Canada in 2008, life seemed to follow a steady upward trajectory—building a successful career from scratch, a business I’m proud of, and what appeared to be a dreamy relationship. Each year seemed better than the last, filled with growth and milestones. But 2024 was different. It broke that stride. It was a challenging, weird, and rough year for me.
Not that the other years were not challenging, I had some rough years before - in particular, having a burnout in 2017 and suffering from anxiety after quitting my successful full-time job in 2021- but those challenges were just bumps in the road — difficult yet surmountable, leading to a stronger version of myself. This year, however, feels unresolved.
One thing that I learned through entrepreneurship is that I'm always exactly where I need to be and that everything happens in divine timing. And as the saying goes - "Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.".
Having a business taught me to really trust in the divine and that whatever is meant for me will be - and that it will be great. It taught me to let go of how I think things should be and to be open to new, unknown paths that will take me to an even more magical place - better than I could have ever imagined. Everything is in movement and anything can change at a moment's notice.
In 2024, I ended a long-term relationship, moved across the country, made new friends, enjoyed one of my best summers in years, had one of the roughest years with business, dealt with health setbacks, and experienced my share of dating disappointments. Yet, despite the hardships, I’m certain that all these experiences are shaping me for what’s ahead.
If you’ve had a rough year too, I hope this serves as a reminder to trust the process and surrender to life’s flow. Growth often comes disguised as struggle, but it’s leading us to a brighter, more magical place. Don't fight it, but dance with it.
As we welcome 2025, I’m sending you love, hope, and my deepest wishes for a year filled with joy, health, and opportunities to build something beautiful. If I can help you with anything, I am here for you.
Here’s to what’s next.
With love,
Julia Falci
